Quality Engineer

About Position: The Quality Engineer / SDET will be responsible for driving end-to-end quality assurance strategies, ensuring high standards in testing practices, and enabling scalable, reliable software delivery across multiple platforms. The role involves close collaboration with development, product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle, with a strong focus on automation, performance, and continuous improvement in an agile environment. Role: Quality Engineer Location: Gurgaon Experience: 5 to 8 years Job Type: Full Time Employment What You'll Do: Define and implement QA strategies, test plans, and assessment processes across projects Drive automation for both functional and non-functional testing wherever possible Identify and implement the right tools and technology stack for quality engineering Perform exploratory, end-to-end, and release-level testing across multiple systems and stakeholders Lead and manage SDET teams across one or more squads while mentoring junior members Own and optimize testing processes across squads and ensure smooth release cycles Participate in sprint grooming and planning to ensure testable acceptance criteria Define and support release processes to ensure successful rollouts Collaborate with Product Owners and developers to embed testing early in the development lifecycle Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify priorities and resolve defects efficiently Contribute to building team capability through training, onboarding, and knowledge sharing Expertise You'll Bring: 4 to 12 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or SDET in agile environments, preferably in banking or fintech Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Golang, Node.js, or ReactJS Hands-on experience with automation tools like Cypress or other TypeScript-based frameworks Knowledge of API automation tools such as REST Assured, Pytest, or Unirest Experience with mobile automation tools like Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, or Detox Understanding of performance and load testing tools like Locust, Gatling, or K6 Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure Pipelines, or Bitrise Solid understanding of testing fundamentals, including test design, execution, and defect management Ability to review code, design scalable test frameworks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Familiarity with web and mobile application architectures and testing approaches Experience with mentoring teams and driving quality engineering best practices Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or a related field Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, security testing, Linux, shell scripting, and databases is a plus Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package Culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies Employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards Annual health check-ups Insurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalization for self, spouse, two children, and parents Values-Driven, People-Centric & Inclusive Work Environment: Persistent is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
