Performance engineer lead

Role Overview As a Product Technical Lead, you will own the end-to-end performance engineering strategy for enterprise-grade applications and platforms. This role demands strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise in performance testing and tuning, and collaboration across Product Owners, Architects, SRE, DevOps, and Delivery Teams to ensure performance-by-design and release readiness. You will leverage Infosys Global Delivery Model and best practices to deliver scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized solutions. Key Responsibilities Performance Strategy & Governance Define performance engineering roadmap, NFRs, and capacity planning aligned with Infosys delivery frameworks. Act as Performance SME during architecture reviews, release go/no-go decisions, and production RCA. Drive performance KPIs, SLIs/SLOs, and golden signals for critical services. Performance Testing & Automation Design and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and soak tests using Apache JMeter. Develop reusable test frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle). Implement parameterization, correlation, custom samplers, and distributed load generation. Application & JVM Optimization Hands-on tuning for Java/Spring Boot microservices deployed on Kubernetes/Docker. Expertise in JVM internals (GC algorithms, heap, thread scheduling) and tools like JFR, JMC, VisualVM. Analyze thread contention, GC pauses, memory leaks, CPU hotspots; recommend code-level optimizations. Database Performance Engineering Tune Oracle/PostgreSQL queries, execution plans, indexing strategies, and connection pooling. Correlate DB metrics with application and infrastructure telemetry. Cloud & Container Performance Drive Kubernetes resource sizing, pod scheduling, and JVM tuning inside containers. Debug using kubectl, logs, metrics; optimize deployments for VMware-based environments.
