Job Title: Test Engineer / Test Lead (Performance Testing) – Contract Position – Mumbai Location: Mumbai Test Engineer Responsibilities • 3‑6 years of strong performance testing experience • Experience in all phases of performance testing: scripting, execution, analysis, monitoring • Very strong hands‑on experience with JMeter and related tools (must) • JMeter script troubleshooting skills (must) • Strong working knowledge of HTTP protocols • Ability to design a JMeter scenario based on production volumetrics • Ability to derive workload modelling • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills • Customer‑facing experience is an added benefit • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to analyze test results and identify bottlenecks in applications Test Lead Responsibilities • Understand client’s technical/application landscape, business drivers, requirements, and build strategy; interact with diverse stakeholders • Independently design test strategies for complex business functionality • Good experience with test methodologies, testing techniques, risk management, etc. • Provide recommendations on suitable testing tools & infrastructure • Work with key stakeholders at client location and build strong, trusted relationships • Assess technical skill set of the client’s QA organization • Be conversant with all forms of QA life‑cycle from regression to non‑functional (performance, security) • 8‑11 years of strong performance testing experience • Proven ability to perform customer‑facing roles • Hands‑on working knowledge of JMeter (must) • Experience in performance monitoring/analysis for lead roles • Ability to derive workload modelling • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Testing certifications such as ISTQB are an added advantage • Good experience in full software life‑cycle including Waterfall and Agile methodologies • Deep understanding of throughput, latency, memory, CPU utilisation, and other metrics • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; will write client‑facing reports and collaborate closely with development and shared services teams • Proactive troubleshooting expertise: lead the charge on triaging and resolving issues, while ensuring proper communication with affected teams Qualifications • 3‑15 years of experience (3‑6 years for Test Engineer; 8‑11 years for Test Lead) • Strong performance testing experience; proficiency in JMeter, LoadRunner, SQL queries, web services • Deep knowledge of HTTP protocols and performance testing tools • Ability to model workloads, analyse results, and troubleshoot bottlenecks • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills • Experience with client‑facing roles and presentations • Testing certifications (ISTQB) are a plus • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile processes
