Piping Material Engineer

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Piping Material Engineer with expertise in hydrogen piping systems to join our team. The role involves preparing detailed specifications for piping, valves, and special parts while ensuring compliance with design and testing requirements specific to hydrogen piping projects. Key Responsibilities: - Develop detailed material specifications for piping, valves, and special parts specific to hydrogen piping systems. - Ensure the selection of appropriate materials to handle hydrogen safely, considering factors such as high pressure, low temperature, and corrosion resistance. - Collaborate with design teams to integrate material specifications into overall piping design for hydrogen plants. - Conduct or oversee testing requirements, including pressure testing, leak detection, and compatibility checks for hydrogen piping systems. - Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to hydrogen piping systems (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API). - Review and approve vendor documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety requirements. - Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and installation phases. - Identify and address challenges specific to hydrogen piping systems, such as material degradation, embrittlement, and safety concerns. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field. - Experience: - Proven experience in piping material engineering, with specific expertise in hydrogen piping systems. - Knowledge of hydrogen-specific codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.12, EIGA, CGA). - Skills: - Proficiency in preparing material specifications and technical documentation. - Strong understanding of hydrogen piping design considerations, including safety, testing, and performance requirements. - Familiarity with software tools for material selection and design analysis.
